A Sienna X tan can give the same results as spending 10-14 days in the sun, but without the harmful effects of UV exposure.

DHA has been approved by the FDA ( food and drinks administration) for use in the beauty industry for more than 30 years and no adverse reactions have been reported other than minor skin irritations.
Allergic reactions are extremely rare: however if you have experienced allergic reactions to self- tanning or other beauty  products please arrange a patch test first

To look after your tan

Tips to prepare and prolong your sunless tan

Before your tan

Exfoliate using sienna x polishing body scrub the night before your tan
Pay particular attention to dry areas such as knees, elbows and ankles.
Remove any unwanted hair 24-48 hours before the tan and moisturise
Do not use any perfume or products on your skin on the day of the tan
Bring loose fitting, dark clothing to wear after the tan and flip flops or loose fitting shoes
Tight clothes will cause the tan to rub off.

After your tan

Leave your tan to develop for 8-10 hours
Shower using SiennaX balance body wash
Avoid excessive exercise, perspiring or getting wet during development
Long baths or swimming will fade the developed tan faster
Remember,  a sunless tan does not protect you in the sun. Use SPF to avoid burning.
Moisturise daily with Sienna X Radiance body balmto enhance your tan and prolong your colour
Start exfoliating using Sienna X Polishing body scrub to encourage even fading

It takes between 24 and 48 hours for the skin to stabilise itself after a wax depilation.

Please remember

  • not to use a sun bed or sunbathe for at least 24 hours
  • not to use highly perfumed products on treated areas for 24 hours
  • only have lukewarm baths or showers after treatments
  • do not use a sauna

The skin needs extra protection after a depilatory treatment. Empty hair follicles provide a route for bacteria.

Keep the treated area clean and apply a soothing after wax lotion or gel regularly to keep the skin soft and minimise any redness or irritation

Our extensions bond perfectly to the natural nail. There is no chemical reaction with the natural nail. We always cleanse and sterilise before applying a nail extension.

It may take you a while to get used to the extra length of your new nails.

Remember to try and not use your nails as tools. Consider your nails to be “ jewels” not “tools”.

  • use your knuckles for light switches, lift buttons etc.
  • Always use finger pads when picking things up.
  • Always use the sides of your fingers for car doors etc.
  • Take care with luggage if going on holiday.
  • Always use tools when opening cans and cartons
  • Try to use rubber gloves for washing up.

Be sure to keep appointments for backfills. It is usual to have a backfill every 2 or 3 weeks depending on the rate of growth of your nails.

I am sure many of you are aware of the recent publicity surrounding MMA (Methyl Methacrylate). The BBC programme Watchdog certainly got the phones ringing from some anxious callers wanting to know more.

In America the Food And Drugs Administration (FDA) officially states MMA "to be a poisonous and deleterious substance". THE FDA RESTRICTS THE USE OF MMA MONOMER IN THE FIELD OF NAIL EXTENSION PRODUCTS.

"All "Brand Name" manufacturers formulate their monomers with EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) The chemical EMA monomer has been reviewed, challenged and debated by the chemical industry over the past 10 years. The science committee working under the umbrella of the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Board (CIR) has reviewed EMA on numerous occasions and EMA has been officially declared safe for use in on nail applications by the CIR."

It is common knowledge in the beauty industry that MMA monomer when used with any polymer creates nail enhancements that are far too rigid when bonded to the natural nail plate, resulting in a permanent bond to the natural nail plate, that cannot be dissolved. MMA monomer bonded nails if accidentally broken or torn from the natural nail result in painful breakage/ tearing of the natural nail plate near the eponychium (the part of the finger where the nail meets living skin) which often promotes serious infections.

Here at Woman, More than Nails Ltd, we only use brand name monomer products from “Creative Nails” which are made with EMA.

We are totally committed to safe and natural looking good quality nails.
